Last month, we caught up with Okie via Germany artist Jeremy Watson.

It was one of his first showings in our state, so let’s give him a warm welcome and check out what he has to say about his creations.

Check out some stills from the shoot after the jump.

We wouldn’t be surprised if The Polyphonic Spree has never heard the expression “too much of a good thing.”

The band’s current line-up sports nearly two dozen members and we fit a dozen of the Dallas-based crew inside of the van for a joyful rendition of “It’s the Sun.”

This is some of the most fun we’ve had with a band in the van.

We hope the joyful nature of this episode is contagious much like the Spree’s energetic, life-affirming concerts.

Sit back, turn it up and enjoy the show.

Here’s the Vimeo version of the spot if you’re fancy.

When it comes to art, Dusty and Tanner know their shirt.

If you’ve been to a Thunder game or have any Oklahomacentric friends then you’ve probably seen designs from Tree and Leaf Clothing.

Dusty has been running the apparel store for about six years.

Design is in his blood. His grandfather’s claim to fame is drawing Pistol Pete, a symbol famous throughout the country. Dusty still has his grandfather’s old design notebooks and its influence doesn’t seem to be fading any time soon.

Dusty and Tanner had quite a big challange facing them last month. They had to create enough artwork for a Live on the Plaza gallery showing in two weeks time. The two tirelessly collaborated and ended up with plenty of quality work.

Except plenty more good stuff from the duo in the future.

You know that old joke in the rock world about bands turning it all the way to 11?

Meet Red City Radio.

They use 11 as toilet paper.

The Okie band’s aggressive and catchy tunes have propelled them to tour outside of the state and even Europe.

They are headed back on tour soon, but we were lucky to catch them for a double song treatment in the streets of downtown Oklahoma City. The first track “An Introduction of Sorts” is off of the band’s latest release “The Dangers of Standing Still” and the second track is off of the 2009 EP “To The Sons and Daughters of Woody Guthrie.”

Hold on to your ear holes and turn this episode all the way up.

Go ahead, scare your coworkers.

Here’s the Vimeo video if you’re into that sort of thing.

Check out some stills of the band after the jump.

Flaming Lips roadie and OKC artist Zac Cox hopped into the van for the last session of 2011.

We enjoy Zac’s construction paper concoctions and his chocolate milk mustache.

Make sure to come out to Live on the Plaza on Friday to catch more local art, and you’ll probably see the van filming another session.

Here’s the Vimeo version if you’re fancy.

Last month, The Society artist Tim Krause joined us for an interview about what it’s like being an artist in Oklahoma.

Krause works with a group of artists in a shared art space in The Plaza District.

He’s the second artist from The Society we’ve had in the van.

We are very much looking forward to more.

Here’s his interview on Vimeo if that’s your thing.

The only thing Horse Thief is interested in stealing is your ears.

They might be after your heart too.

The Oklahoma City-based band’s song “Warrior” captures the quartet’s sentiments quite nicely.

The song goes, “Time isn’t real it’s an illusion that you feel in Oklahoma/And beauty can arise in the beauty of your mind in Oklahoma.”

With the surge of excellent music and art in the past couple years, the VDub crew listens to this song and hears a rally cry.

Nothing is impossible.

Every day our state can become a state of mind. We can make beautiful things inside of Oklahoma. There’s no one to stop us.

Also, make sure to check out Horse Thief on Dec. 10 at the ACM@UCO Performance Lab, 329 E. Sheridan in Bricktown. Deerpeople, The Non and Feathered Rabbit are opening and helping celebrate Horse Thief’s first album release.

Don’t forget to check back early next week for part two of Horse Thief’s VDub Session.

Here’s Horse Thief’s session on Vimeo if that’s more of your thing.

Also, check out some stills after the jump.

Howdy VDubbers, the Spy Van was more than busy this week.

A new artist advanture with The Society artist Tim Krause was filmed at Live on the Plaza on Friday.

Early Saturday morning, our filming crew saddled up for a Cowtown VDub Session in the historic Stockyard City with Ali Harter (an Okie famous around the world). She performed a new song that is uniquely Ali.

Make sure to check back soon for these episodes and a NEW episode from Green Corn Revival.
