Last month we once again grabbed a talented artist and performed an interview/art experiment in a moving vehicle.

We do this every month at Live on the Plaza.

Our Plaza District friends chose Sean Vali and we discussed collaboration, Voltron and the energy of the Oklahoma City art scene.

Come see us tonight in the Plaza for another night of free fun.

You know that old expression about how the company you keep determines the trouble you meet?

I could only imagine what sort of trouble Edmond-native singer/songwriter Audra Mae could get into.

Her enthusiastic Spy Van performance of “My Friend the Devil” might give you a pretty good idea of Mae’s meddlesome ways.

Or you can look at her fingernails. Her thumb was painted with her symbol, an anarchistic A for Audra.

We’ve been fans Mae since her impromptu session at Norman Music Festival two years ago.

Both songs she has performed in the Spy Van are from her excellent self-titled album Audra Mae and the Almighty Sound.

Please don’t hold us responsible for all the trouble you get into after giving it a listen, but at least we can promise it will be worth it.

Here’s the Vimeo version of this video if you’re into that sort of thing.

Check out some stills of Audra after the jump.

Last month, The Society artist Tim Krause joined us for an interview about what it’s like being an artist in Oklahoma.

Krause works with a group of artists in a shared art space in The Plaza District.

He’s the second artist from The Society we’ve had in the van.

We are very much looking forward to more.

Here’s his interview on Vimeo if that’s your thing.

Friend of the show Tim Katz shot the Spy Van while running around the Plaza District during Live on the Plaza.

During the final day of Norman Music Festival 4, the Spy Wagon was parked on the corner of Main and Peters.

We invited locals musicians and headliners for interviews and performances.

Penny Hill, who performed her song Olympia inside the van last year, is up first.

Check back every day for new NMF4 videos.

P.S.

Here’s Penny’s video on Vimeo if that’s your thing.

Get ready for a ton of VDub Sessions content from Norman Music Festival 4.

First we’d like to share a series of portraits taken inside of the Spy Van.

Musicians, festival organizers, journalists and photographers piled in as we tried to capture the people that make this festival great.

Last night at Live on the Plaza, the Spy Van finally became edible.

Unfortunately, the Spy Van probably couldn’t survive a drive to Austin, Texas for SXSW 2011 but that didn’t stop Graham Colton from playing a brand new song on his way to the festival.

Consider it a quasi-VDub Session.

The Oklahoma City singer/songwriter discussed establishing an identity as a musician and stepping away from a record label to make his latest album “Pacific Coast Eyes.”

Check out several other videos of the SXSW showcase Cotlon and dozens of Okie bands performed at here.
