Artist Mark White is like a cowbell.

He just goes well with music.

But seriously now, the Oklahoma City-based artist spent three months crafting artwork for May’s Live on the Plaza, and we’re very excited to see what he could draw for us inside of the Spy Van.

White specializes in psychedelia, so it’s no big surprise to see his artwork inside of Warpaint Clothing or gracing the cover of The Pretty Black Chains’ album “Awakening.”

We spoke to White about his passion for music and how he’s happy to team up with Chains guitarist Derek Knowlton.

Knowlton is responsible for scoring every artist VDub Session, which means you should check him out too.

Dig it.

Last night at Live on the Plaza, the Spy Van finally became edible.

Welcome to a new type of VDub Sessions.

Because the Spy Van pays a visit to Live on the Plaza every month, we thought it would be a good idea to put the van to good use.

Every month we are featuring an interview with an Oklahoma artist while he or she sketches an original creation.

Ruth Ann Borum-Loveland is our first artist and Derek Knowlton is provides original music for the session.

You might know Knowlton from as the co-owner of the Plaza District business Warpaint Clothing and the guitarist for The Pretty Black Chains.

We met up with Ruth at DNAgalleries.

Let us know what you think of the new sessions and there are plenty more music sessions on the way.
