Oklahoma Cloud Factory is difficult band to pin down.

Before the fivesome hopped into the van, their sunny disposition was contagious and welcomed. However, their track “Harvest Season” forecasted a darker mood hinted with loneliness and mistrust. It plays out like a folk tinged break up song.

But like all Oklahoma weather, the song doesn’t stay the same for too long and twists in a new direction.  We really enjoyed OCF’s original song and its take on Sugar Ray is legendary. LEGENDARY we say.

We can’t wait to hear more from them.

Last month’s Live on the Plaza introduced us to tattoo/fine artist Josh Reynolds.

The avid Adult Swim fan and devoted father spoke to us about how painting informed his growth as a popular tattoo artist in Oklahoma City. Don’t forget to make it out to Live on the Plaza this Friday. It should be a barrel and a half of good times.

A special thanks to Ryan Parker for lending us his excellent track, “Feel.”

Here’s a brand new track from Norman singer/songwriter John Calvin. He didn’t fly solo though. We were lucky enough to welcome Camille Harp and VDub alumni Jordan Herrera.

Don’t forget you can catch John playing an acoustic set at Norman Music Festival 6. It’s inside Opolis at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. See you there.

Oklahoma City-based artist, graphic designer and everyone’s favorite Mule bartender Jason Pawley hopped in the van at last week’s Live on the Plaza to discuss his art and striving to be a full-time artist.

Make sure to come out this Friday for another great Live on the Plaza.

Check out this upbeat, poppy ditty from Oklahoma City-native Allie Lauren.

Lauren is living in Arkansas but she’s still determined to play at home. She’s even got a gig this week at RAW: Oklahoma City.

We promise her performance will be twice as infectious and fan as her kazoo solo.

After his bus broke down and a killer snowstorm, Tulsa-native hip hopper Johnny Polygon performed a track off of his new album “The Nothing.”

A special thank you to Kerry Myers for making this happen.

Imagine a runaway train barreling toward you.

Now what if that same was mewing?

That’s sort of how the VDub crew felt when Black Canyon hopped into the Spy Van.

Known for rowdy and raucous live shows, the OKC-based band is no stranger to volume. Frontman Jake Morisse’s hearty laugh is evidence enough.

So, we were pleasantly surprised to hear a softer side to Black Canyon. “Weary Hands” is as warm and genuine as the scratches in your favorite record.

Black Canyon will turn things up this Saturday as they release a new album alongside Beau Jennings & The Tigers.

Don’t miss out.

OKC-based rapper aDDLib joined the list of impressive hip hop acts that have performed inside of the Spy Van.

His crew slowed things down and performed a sentimental tune complete with beats and backup singers.

Tallows has issues.

It’s nothing the quartet can’t handle though. For their VDub Session, the band wanted to use a drum machine. It was much too quiet for the rattle of the van. Solution? Drummer Jay Sullivan duct taped his leg with bells. Richard Lindsey wanted to play xylophone. Sadly, mallets are expensive. Diagnosis? Spoons work just as well.

It’s with sincerity that we present this recently developed Okie band. Tallows’ inginuity, sense of humor and humility are going to go a long way.

We always have our ears open to new bands, and it’s always a treat when they exceed our expectations.

Keep your eyes on this group.

It’s an issue your ears will appreciate.

We’ve been holding on to this episode in the VDub archives for far too long.

Say hello to the bluesy tune Feathered Rabbit performed for us way before they released their excellent self-titled EP.

Oh, and don’t forget to thank Full Circle Bookstore for letting us hang out for a quick rehearsal.
