This might be one of our favorite sessions yet.

Okie John Moreland recently named Aaron Lee Tasjan as one of his favorite working songwriters and Bonnie Whitmore joined to sweeten the deal.

We loved how it turned out and enjoyed this rendition of “Lucinda’s Room” from Tasjan’s excellent 2015 album “In the Blazes.”

Just ask Jabee. We are sure you’ll hear him gush about his daughter, Sailor Rose, and about his stellar new album, Everything Was Beautiful And Nothing Hurt. (If you peak at the album’s cover, you’ll see he combined his smiling child with ten new standout tracks). He might even mention working with Murs or touring the country with El-P and Killer Mike.

It’s a long walk from Oklahoma City to New York, but we’re glad Luke Dick made the trek during the holidays. We’re big fans of his latest album “ABRAÇO” and it was a treat to hear him play “Connected” with his friends David Leach and Nooch in the Spy Van.

The Stillwater-based quartet ADMIRALS have a double batch of awesome cooking up this week. The band’s impressive debut album “Amidst The Blue” is seeing the light of day and the boys are celebrating with a killer release show at The Blue Note.

Only a couple hours away from Oklahoma City is Denton, Texas. It’s the homebase for Midlake and it’s only a tank of gas away. However, it still feels surreal to have the band pile into the Spy Van. The sextet is known worldwide and its new album “Antiphon” would fit nicely in any year-end music list.
